How do I replace a safe deposit box key that was lost or stolen?
To replace your safe deposit box keys, you must visit the MECU main office with a valid government ID. An MECU representative will verify your identity and schedule an appointment to have the lock on your box drilled. The owner of the safe deposit box needs to be present during the drilling. All safe deposit box owners are responsible for key replacement and drilling costs, that need to be paid prior to the scheduled drilling appointment. The current fee for drilling a safety deposit box is $125.
